How is COATS financed?
The main sources of income are:
CHARITY SHOP
The COATS Charity Shop at 227 High Street, Crowthorne is a major funding source. It is supported by local people in the form of donations of items for sale.
WOODMANCOTE HOUSE
Leased to young people who require supported living under an arrangement with Bracknell Forest Council.
SOCIAL AND SPECIAL FUNDRAISING EVENTS
Organised by members and friends of the committee.
GRANTS
The local authorities have some small grants available.
DONATIONS
A few donations are received from local organisations and individuals.
LEGACIES
We are always grateful when members and visitors remember us in their will.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
At this time Membership of COATS is not used as a major funding source but anyone who believes that the Charity’s work is an important part of community life in Crowthorne is encouraged and invited to become a member of the Charity for a small fee. This also gives them the authority to vote at the Annual General Meeting of the charity.
DAILY CENTRE FEES
Visitors contribute a small ‘pay-as-you-go’ daily fee.
